Mobei Jun is aware that humans aren’t as adept to the cold as demons, especially ice demons. What he didn’t realize is just how susceptible Shang Qinghua is to the cold.

It’s months after everything’s settled. Since Luo Binghe and his husband are touring the world, Mobei Jun’s left in charge (more or less) of the demon world. The duties weren’t hard seeing as the humans and demons have called a truce under the watchful eye of Luo Binghe. Now, he mostly deals with petty disputes about property. 

He calls Shang Qinghua to his chambers that night. It’s not the first time he’s been in the vicinity, but the first time in his bed chambers. When Shang Qinghua appears, he’s wearing his usual robes and carrying a number of scrolls. Mobei Jun’s confused at first; why would Shang Qinghua bring business at such a late hour? But Mobei Jun watches silently as Shang Qinghua places the scrolls on his desk and then proceeds to shudder violently. 

Mobei Jun steps closer to him until they’re centimeters away from each other. Shang Qinghua looks up at him, craning that thin, delicate neck. Mobei Jun reaches for it before he can think about what he’s doing. He doesn’t grip hard but he feels Shang Qinghua’s pulse flutter underneath his grip. He presses harder and delights in how it jumps. The skin underneath his hands and he feels gooseflesh ripple underneath him and he feels Shang Qinghua’s shiver as if it were his own.

“Are you cold?” He asks curiously, leaning closer into Shang Qinghua’s space. 

“Yeah, you’re like an ice box!” Shang Qinghua says, sounding indignant. Mobei Jun finds it… Interesting and moves his hand lower so that is dips below the collar of Shang Qinghua’s robes. 

Shang Qinghua shudders again, but this time more forcefully; Mobei Jun feels the tensing and rippling of his muscles. And then he has an idea. 

He removes his hand and watches as Shang Qinghua’s shoulders sag in relief. Mobei Jun tries not to feel affected by that as he starts generating small cubes of ice in his palm. Shang Qinghua’s eyes follow the growing pile of ice and his eyes widen. 

“T-T-There’s nothing to drink here m’lord,” Shang Qinghua stutters, eyeing how Mobei Jun’s hand starts to come closer to him. 

Mobei Jun, with little fanfare, drops his pile of ice cubes down Shang Qinghua’s robes. The reaction is instantaneous; Shang Qinghua’s body jerks hard away from him and Mobei Jun watches as he tries to shake the ice out of his robes. When that proves ineffective, he takes off his outer robes, revealing all white. There’s small spots of water from the ice but Mobei Jun focuses on one particular spot. The skin underneath it is pink and puckered.

Mobei Jun coats his fingers with ice and stalks close to Shang Qinghua once more. Shang Qinghua is too slow to move away before Mobei Jun’s frigid hands are at his neck. Shang Qinghua’s pulse thunders underneath his grip. Mobei Jun finds he likes it a lot. 

For his part, Shang Qinghua finds Mobei Jun’s behavior increasingly worrying. He’s not quite sure what’s brought this curious change but he knows that he needs to put an end to it sooner rather than later. He looks around the room as Mobei Jun’s hands slides from his neck to his chest. 

Ice cold fingers circle his nipples that have grown so erect from the chill it’s almost painful. His eyes catch on a candle, flame low, mostly wax. He doesn’t think before he’s reaching for it. He holds it up between them. Mobei Jun doesn’t stop his assault on Shang Qinghua’s nipples. So, Shang Qinghua closes his eyes and dumps the candle wax down the front of Mobei Jun’s robe. The fingers pinching his nipples pause and Mobei Jun hisses. Shang Qinghua smirks despite the situation. He can’t help but think they’re even. 

When he looks down to see where the wax fell, he feels his eyes widen and mouth drop open. The wax hadn’t fallen at his chest, but at his waist and down the front of his robes. But that’s not the reason Shang Qinghua’s eyes widen to the size of saucers. There’s something poking from underneath Mobei Jun’s robes. Shang Qinghua would have to be an idiot not to know what that is. 

“M’lord?” He asks quietly, looking up into Mobei Jun’s eyes. They glow a pretty hue of blue and are the only warning before Mobei Jun pulls him in close and brings their lips together. 

His mouth is as cold as the rest of him but rather than chill him to the bone, it heats him up from his toes to his head. Up this close, Shang Qinghua feels Mobei Jun’s erection as well as the cooling wax. It molds against Mobei Jun’s erection, but quickly breaks apart as Mobei Jun grows harder. 

Mobei Jun sheds his outer robes without breaking the kiss. Goosebumps ripples across the entirety of Shang Qinghua’s body because even more of Mobei Jun’s chill seeps through the thinner material. Shang Qinghua is so enraptured by their kiss he fails to notice Mobei Jun making more ice cubes. 

The first one is slipped into the back of his robes, the cube sliding down his spine and into his undergarments. He shivers at the odd sensation. Mobei jun nips at his lips and Shang Qinghua deepens the kiss despite another ice cube sliding down his back. He’s already so cold that he doesn’t realize his inner robe has fallen off his shoulders to reveal his pebbled skin. 

Mobei Jun breaks the kiss and Shang Qinghua feels like an icy fog has cleared from his mind. Shang Qinghua again reaches blindly over the neighboring desk and finds another melting candle. This time he pours the wax over the sliver of skin exposed from Mobei Jun’s inner robes. Mobei Jun hisses again but his eyes glow blue, quickly hardening the wax. 

“Again.”
