I loved all your Stephen King prompts this year but I couldn't shake the thought of Eddie and Roland in another iteration (an alternate universe or just another turn of the wheel) where they meet in a full-on Western context. Eddie's a city slicker on the run from an entirely different crime-ridden New York City, fleeing westward from some very bad men, and Roland is the cool-headed blue-eyed gunslinger who keeps him from wandering straight into an even more hazardous situation. I love the Magnificent Seven-ish interlude we get in the later books but there's no limit to classic Western plots I'd love to see Roland's ka-tet wade into.
